OUR STANDARDS

Field Trip exists to make the outdoors feel more understandable, welcoming, and worth protecting. Curiosity leads the way; accuracy, independence, and care keep us on the trail.

ACCURACY BEFORE SPEED
We verify facts, use reliable sources, and correct mistakes when we find them. If something important changes after publication, we update the story and make the correction clear.

CLEAR RELATIONSHIPS
Paid partnerships, gifted products, affiliations, and other material relationships are disclosed where readers can see them. Compensation never buys praise or controls our editorial opinion.

RECOMMENDATIONS EARNED
We recommend places, products, and ideas because our writers have researched, tested, or meaningfully experienced them. We aim to explain who something is for, what it does well, and where the tradeoffs are.

RESPECT FOR PEOPLE AND PLACE

The outdoors is for everyone. We use inclusive language, respect communities and cultures, and encourage responsible choices around wildlife and wild places. We support sustainability and climate education. As members of 1% for the Planet, we give at least 1% of our gross revenue to environmental organizations.

HUMAN EDITORIAL JUDGMENT
Technology may help us research, organize, improve process, or edit, but a person remains accountable for every published Field Trip story. Human judgment, fact-checking, and voice come first.
