A Statement from Our Founder

This Land Is Your Land. This Land Is My Land. So No, We’re Not Staying Quiet.

At Field Trip, we love the outdoors. And loving it means speaking up when the systems meant to protect it are being weakened. The U.S. Forest Service is facing major upheaval, with real consequences for the public lands we rely on for recreation, wildlife, clean water, and wildfire resilience. We support strong stewardship of public lands, science, transparency, and the public servants who care for these places. And when public lands are treated like an afterthought, we believe it’s worth raising hell.

Readers: visit www.saveusfs.org, contact outdoor brands, and reach out to your elected officials. Brands: if you’ve spoken up, thank you. If you haven’t, now’s the time.

Public lands belong to all of us. What happens to them happens to all of us.

An online outpost for those who would rather be outside.

Remember grade school field trips? Those days when the school bus became a ticket to adventure, permission slips felt like passports to the unknown, and nature and historic sites transformed into playgrounds of discovery? That sense of anticipation, curiosity, and wonder—that’s what we’re here to help you rediscover.

Welcome to Field Trip - an online outpost for those who would rather be outside. We believe the outdoors is for everyone—not just the ultralight backpackers or the hardcore adventurers (although we love you too), but anyone who finds joy in fresh air, open skies, and the thrill of discovery. Whether you’re pitching a tent under the stars, exploring a hidden trail, or simply soaking up the stillness of your backyard, we’re here to inspire and equip you to embrace the wild, however that looks for you.

But we’re not just about getting outside—we’re about protecting it, too. The destruction of public lands, the denial of climate change, and the rollback of conservation protections aren’t political debates to us; they are existential threats to the places we love and the future we want to protect. We believe adventure and advocacy go hand in hand—because if we don’t stand up for these wild places, who will?

Join Field Trip. No permission slip needed—just a willingness to wander, wonder, and fight for the world we love.
